The hidden
hydraulic door.

Every other outdoor kitchen pod has exposed hydraulic rams — visible metal cylinders bolted to the door frame, on show. Ours are hidden. Around 90% of the mechanism sits behind an integrated cover panel, so the pod reads as clean stainless architecture, not workshop machinery. It is, without exception, the best-looking pod door on the market.

The detail

A door
without visible rams.

Look at any other BBQ pod on the market and the hydraulic rams are the first thing you see — chrome pistons, exposed brackets, industrial fixings. It's the reason most pods look more like a tool locker than an outdoor kitchen.

On a PoshBBQ pod, the rams are engineered inside the door's own cover panel. From every normal viewing angle the mechanism disappears. What you see instead is a clean stainless-steel line that runs continuously from the pod body up into the raised roof. It's the difference between a machine that lifts and an object that opens.

PoshBBQ vs the rest

Every other pod: visible rams.
PoshBBQ: no visible rams.

Other outdoor kitchen pods

  • — Twin chrome hydraulic pistons visible on both sides of the door
  • — Exposed brackets, bolts and rubber boots
  • — Industrial "workshop cabinet" appearance
  • — Pistons collect grease, pollen and dirt in the open

PoshBBQ pods

  • Rams concealed inside the door's cover panel — ~90% invisible
  • Uninterrupted stainless envelope from body to roof
  • Furniture-grade appearance, not machinery
  • Mechanism protected from weather, pollen and daily grime
Questions

About the hidden door.

What makes PoshBBQ different from every other BBQ pod company?

The hidden hydraulic door. It's the one design element every competitor has left visible, and the one we've engineered to disappear. Everything else — grills, sinks, TVs — is available on other pods. Concealed rams are not.

Are the rams really invisible?

Approximately 90% invisible. From standing height on a garden or patio, the mechanism reads as a continuous stainless line. Only a small, deliberately styled sliver is visible when you're crouched next to the pod with the door fully open.

How does the door open?

By remote control, in 3.5 seconds. Twin electro-hydraulic rams lift the insulated six-layer door up and back into a covered recess above the pod. Silent, weather-sealed, and off-mains.

Why do the other companies not do this?

Because it's harder. Concealing the rams means designing the cover panel, door and hinge geometry together as one piece — not bolting a lift kit onto an existing box. That's the difference between an engineered pod and an assembled one.
